My grandson Joe sent me a birthday card and this sun was on the back of the card that he created. I have artsy grandchildren who feel free when they take out markers and crayons. I really love that my daughter and son-in-law must have nurtured that. I save all of the cards they send me, store-bought or home-made because it is so wonderful to look at them and see their handwriting or their choice of colors. Right now my granddaughter, Caroline's "art" that her mom sent, adorns my fridge. Caroline is 18 months old and I am pretty sure her art work will change through the years but I have one of her first! I have one of Jim's first stories so when he is a great author I will be able to tell folks..."I have one of his "earliest works." So many times I wish that someone had not been so critical of my attempts at art because it has really caused me to be afraid to "just create." Today I will try to just let the art flow out of me.
