At this point I think I have used all of the embossed images that I had done after viewing Kristina Werner's holiday card day 4.  I added a red & white dot background paper and the red & white striped ribbon.  The ribbon story is that it came from a box of chocolates someone gave me umpteen years ago and I like to validate my reputation for hoarding craft supplies that I can use someday.  

The little Merry Christmas sentiment comes from the same set as the cups and stockings, Wplus9.

Red & White Christmas cards make me happy. 

Kristina Werner's Holiday card series Day 4

I did not have the stamp set that Kristina used but I did have some stamps from the Simon Says Stamp Ugly Sweater set and so I used that to fill in the Stampin Up paper.  I still hate the Recollections embossing powder but I am stuck with it so I will be embossing my heart out!  The sentiment is from a Martha Stewart stamp set.  I didn't feel as though I got good coverage when I dragged the bottom of the panel through the Versamark and I do not have the embossing pen that she has so I admit to touching up with a bit of uni ball white.  


I watched the video in bed before I got up this morning and the minute I saw it I knew the sweater set stamps would work.  I like it a lot.

Trick or Treat Card - Stamptember Blog Hop

I love Kristina Werner's art!  She does such beautiful work.  If you are interested, Simon Says Stamps is having a blog hop.

These two clean and simple cards were made with the big butterfly from the Unity Stamp kit of the month.  I love the way red rubber stamps... stamp.  I used colorbox dye ink on the butterflies and it is so wet and juicy they look watercolored.  The sentiment incredibly grateful for you comes from Simon Says Stamps and it is Kristina Werner's handwriting.   One of my biggest challenges is not the stamping it is taking the pictures of my cards.  Arghhh!

My new discovery is the Unity Stamp Company Kit of the month.  The stamps are a wonderful red rubber mounted on foam and come in a big sheet.  There are so many wonderful images and they stamp beautifully every time.  Now that my new best friend is my stamp-a-ma-jig, I am able to get really good placement.  I made two cards using the With Grateful Heart stamp.  

This first one I made using white frost pigment ink and then painted it with watercolors.  I didn't like the way the sentiment faded into the card.  The dash lines are in honor of Kristina Werner who had a tweet complainer about her dash lines, so I decided to mandate dash lines for the day.  *smile*

This second card I took a different approach.  I masked the entire wreath portion of the stamp and inked the sentiment only with white frost pigment ink.  I then embossed it using white embossing powder and got the "pop" I was looking for.  It was a little difficult to line the stamp up and stamp the wreath properly to have it surround the sentiment but I was able to use some tape on my acrylic block and got lucky.  I masked the sentiment the second time and stamped just the wreath.  I then watercolored the vine, leaves and hearts.  I used my Big Shot and two nesting Spellbinders dies to make the scalloped circle that is on the outside of the wreath.  The card base is Bazzill which I ran through the Big Shot in the dot embossing folder.  Liquid pearls, some dash lines and we have a card.

I have been playing around today making a card using the cut up pieces of rainbow background stamped image I created during the first class.  This is what I came up with for card number one.

This afternoon I spent entirely too much time creating this card which I am not all that thrilled with.  I used the Quilt Cuts 2 dies from Wplus9.

It is a fun die but I did not cut it using adhesive as I had seen someone else do, so there was a lot of fussy gluing and placement.

The thinking of you die comes from Simon Says Stamp and is designed by Kristina Werner.  I may not have mentioned how much I LOVE everything Kristina Werner does!!
