Today my card was a CASE (Copy and Share Everything) of a card on Dawn Woleslagle's Blog although I did not have the stamp set, I used dies.  I love what she did with the black and small touches of red so I decided to use her as my muse.

My card uses two die sets from Impression Obsession. One was the three deer and one the birch trees with the cardinals.  I have used the tree dies a couple times but this was my first time using the deer.  I love them!  I cut the trees from white card and then used black soot distress to give them the black look that Dawn had with her stamps.  I also free hand cut out the snow banks but plan to beg for the snow bank dies from Wplus9 next time Bob looks generous. (He always does.)

Believe it or not I did not use wink of stella... I used stickles instead!

In honor of Dawn and because Wplus9 are some of my favorite stamsp, I used Comfort and Joy from the Heartfelt Holiday set.

I am adding this to Hazels Challenge ... Come join the fun!

  3. What a wonderful scene you have created! The black and white gives you a sense of quiet and peacefulness that only a snowy winter forest has, and the POP of red on your Cardinal looks fantastic! They are my most favorite! ;) TFS!!!
